The climate in Alabama, being close to the Gulf of Mexico, is suptropical. It tends to have very hot summers, rain and mild winters. March, traditionally, is the wettest month of the year. So plan your travel or relocation during the summer or in October, which is consider a dryer month.

Major airports in Alabama include Birmingham International Airport (BHM), Dothan Regional Airport (DHN), Huntsville International Airport (HSV), Mobile Regional Airport (MOB), Muscle Shoals - Northwest Alabama Regional Airport (MSL), and Tuscaloosa Regional Airport (TCL).


Education

There are over 30 colleges and universities in the state of Alabama including University of Alabama.  The university was founded in 1831 and is located in Tuscaloosa.
